The garden pool and breakfast beneath the trees were lovely. The room was beautiful, the bed was great, and we slept well. Breakfast was amazing, mostly pastries and fruit, though I also had ham, cheeses, local butter, and fresh bread straight from the bakery. The staff were excellent and friendly. A few words of Italian are enough here, so English or German aren’t necessary. I’d recommend it.

The meal was paced just right, with nicely prepared, well-presented dishes arriving at sensible intervals. Nothing felt hurried or dragged out, and the discreet staff were there when needed. The chef kindly made time to visit every table, and the staff joined the midnight countdown. It was a delightful evening. We spent New Year’s Eve at La Pace, choosing the fixed-price fish menu. It was nicely balanced and a welcome change from Tuscan specialties. There was a good selection of local and national wines at fair prices, and the service was very good. We started in the foyer with a welcome drink and hors d’oeuvres before moving to the nicely decorated dining room. Breads were already set out at our table. Cheers!

The hotel has recently been renovated, and the clean, comfortable rooms suit anyone wanting comfort without a strongly rustic feel. The welcome was friendly and straightforward, and the staff were very helpful. It’s a good base for a Tuscan walk and a visit to the thermal baths, only a 10-minute drive away. Parking is the one drawback.

The rooms are well cared for and kept neat and clean, and the staff are friendly and always ready to help. It’s an excellent hotel with excellent service. I’d gladly come back if I’m in the area again.
