The pool is a bit of a hike from the house, so you'll need to be in decent shape to enjoy it. They do have a fridge with water and towels up there, which saves you carrying those things. Parking is tricky, so rent a small car rather than bringing a big American one. Inside, the kitchen is easy to cook in and there are places to sit both indoors and out. The windows open onto gorgeous views each morning, in a beautiful setting in a small northern Italian town with plenty of history to discover. Christina was helpful and kind. She wants guests to enjoy the property and treat it respectfully. Spend time in Asolo, including the convent and cemetery. The restaurants in town are all wonderful. Venice is an easy day trip, and we loved driving to the dolomites for lunch in Cortina, as well as spending a day in Bassano del Grappa. There's so much to do here, and the whole place feels like heaven.

We were enjoying local products and prosecco in the garden when the owner came over and told us to tidy up, saying, “this is not a gypsy campsite.” She made the comment because she knew our nationality. We were shocked and speechless, and felt extremely unwelcome. That kind of behavior is unacceptable.

The view is stunning and the location is beautiful. I spent a weekend here with friends, but the owner was extremely rude to us. While we were eating local products we had bought in town on the terrace, she said, “that here is not a gipsy camp.” We hadn't bothered other guests or made noise, or done anything else.

The website photos are lovely, but they still don't show how fabulous the property really is. We stayed at Villa ilgalero for two weeks, and it was the best vacation any of us had ever had. The staff genuinely cared about our comfort and happiness. It was only a five minute walk to Asolo, with its great restaurants and interesting shops. We hired drivers for day trips to Verona, Padua, Treviso, and vincenza, and spent another day on prosecco wine tours.
