The location is central, which was about the only upside for us. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, towels cost extra, and the kitchen wasn’t well equipped. The apartment was a bit dirty, and the beds felt like relics from the 50s or 60s: creaky and not very comfortable. Furniture in the rooms was minimal, and sometimes even that felt lacking. There’s a shared courtyard, which is nice to have, though nothing special.

The host was really kind and helpful. We found the apartment clean, with comfortable beds and the basic amenities we needed. It’s a great central base, and the little courtyard with its table and two chairs was cozy. We’ll come back!

The Booking.com photos bore no resemblance to what we found. The apartment was damp and dirty, and the shower was so unhygienic that we couldn’t use it. It’s a shame I can’t share the pictures, especially the ones of the shower.

The owner was kind, and the apartment is central, but the place could be much better. We chose something inexpensive on purpose, yet some basic comforts really are essential. The apartment is large but poorly maintained, with no wardrobe, TV, air conditioning, window screens, or even a full-length mirror. We had to take the mirror down just to see ourselves and put on makeup. Mosquitoes kept us from opening the windows. We killed several of them inside, along with lots of other insects. Even the bathroom mirror hangs from a chain instead of being fixed to the wall. And the shower? No comment.

Right in the center of Assisi, this is a simple apartment with everything you need. The owner was kind and helpful.
