B&B Residenza di Campagna

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the delicious pastries in the morning. This family-run place has a homely feel, and Federica was so kind and made us comfortable. The rooms were clean and spacious, and it’s only a few kilometers from Assisi, in a convenient spot.

Federica and her father, Domenico, were attentive and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. The room was spotless and had what we needed, including towels and different soaps. Breakfast featured homemade food from Federica. The place is well located for Assisi, Spello, Perugia, Spoleto, Foligno, and nearby areas. It’s close to the ring road, but we didn’t find it noisy.

Domenico, Federica’s father, welcomed us warmly and was ready to help with anything we needed. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and Federica made breakfast feel special with her hospitality, homemade cakes, and a pleasantly varied spread. Country Residence has a homely feel and a handy position near the main roads to Assisi, Spello, Perugia, and the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was a letdown. Even though we’d told them a month ahead about a severe intolerance to milk and dairy, there was nothing for us to eat or drink. There were three empty cereal jars, just dregs of tea, packaged biscuits and croissants, and two cakes past their date for the others. Far from acceptable. We stayed in the quadruple room in winter, and it was freezing. The radiators weren’t switched on until 7:00 PM, even after we reminded them that there were two little girls and asked for heat earlier. The shower was cold and in awful shape, with water spraying everywhere; there was mold on the window, and the whole house smelled strongly musty. When we opened the closet to hang our clothes, we found the landlady’s old bathrobes and dressing gowns. We were speechless. The bathroom was very inconvenient to reach: we had to go down a shared corridor and hope we’d brought everything and wouldn’t be seen. Pucci dripped water and left cobwebs over the fake flowers in the bathroom. The doors creaked loudly. For four people, there was one shower cap, one roll of paper towels, and one shampoo, but no soap. We couldn’t ask anyone because the lady didn’t show up until the next day. On the phone, we were told, “The representative brought that to me.” No comment. Beware of the positive reviews. This was the worst place we’ve ever stayed in our lives.
