I only found this place on my last evening, which was a shame because I would've happily come back. The two-course meal was just €13, and the food and service were both great. Lovely atmosphere, too, for such an unbelievable price.

We went in around 8pm on March 16, 2025, after Mass in the lower church above St. Francis’ tomb. It was lightly sprinkling outside. My wife ordered the Bolognese, I had a Margherita pizza, and our daughter chose buttered pasta. From the bread and wine through to dessert, everything tasted amazing. The staff were attentive and caring, and the place was clean and elegant, with that warm, nostalgic feel you hope for from an Italian meal. We can't say enough good things about it and highly recommend it.

I showed up ten minutes before dinner service at 19:00, but the chef invited me in. The waitress was so sweet and looked after me really well. I had a big plate of spaghetti carbonara, plus water and a coffee, for about €14. There's also an all-in menu for around €13. I came specifically for the carbonara this time, but I'll try one of those menus next time.

The porcini and crema di mela stuffed pasta was delicious, and the house white was especially good. I stopped by at lunchtime hoping for pizza and a beer, but they only serve pizza in the evening. The bill was fair, though.

Fair prices, really kind staff, and very good food. That was the best meal I had on the whole trip. I'd recommend it and come back.
