The location gives decent access to Assisi, but that's the only good thing I can say. This is a hostel, not a hotel. The promotions and romantic idea of a former "monastery" are misleading. The rooms and dining area could just as well be described as a "minimum security prison." It's borderline fine if you think of it as a hostel, but there are youth groups, noise, doors slamming, a "high school cafeteria" style restaurant, poor cleanliness, and management that generally doesn't seem to care. There have to be better places in the area. I'd look elsewhere.

The breakfast was a disaster. They moved us between tables several times, then said we couldn't eat because it was meant for another group, which wasn't true. The staff seemed unwilling to help, and the room was untidy with hair all over the uncleaned bathroom. Noise started in the early hours, so I couldn't sleep past 6 o'clock. Probably the worst place I've ever stayed. Don't go there.

We were with a tour group and stayed in the hotel's new section a few weeks ago. The rooms were clean, tidy, and good, and the hotel is close to Assisi. Service was great, everyone was friendly, and it's a lovely place. I'd recommend it.

The beds felt springy and could've been softer, and it was hard to set the room temperature. Water pressure was good, though we ran out of hot water, probably because everyone was showering at once. The food was okay and breakfast was good. Overall, it was a good hotel.

There really isn't enough room for four people in a quad. The rooms are very small, and the hallways smell like feet. I don't know how it has a 4.1 rating, because the rooms weren't good at all.
