Casa Vacanze Roberta

We'd happily stay again if we get the chance. The apartment was peaceful, comfortable, and clean, with a pharmacy and supermarket close by. The owners were helpful and kind, and there was private parking. Having a car also made several tourist spots less than a 10-minute drive away.

With no vacation plans in place, I came across the apartment by chance. Roberta was so kind and ready to help whenever I needed something, and I felt right at home.

The apartment worked well for our two-night stay, with lots of space and room for families or longer visits. It’s in a great spot for Assisi, Eremo delle Carceri, San Damiano, and other places nearby. The owners were always kind and available for questions, and gave us helpful tips for good meals at reasonable prices. The stairs are the one drawback, as they make the apartment unsuitable for people with disabilities.

The only positive I can mention is that the manager was willing to help, though that was overshadowed by how the booking was handled. I phoned about renting an apartment for five days in early August 2019. The manager told me to look at the website photos and described features, including the kitchen color, to distinguish the unit from the ones shown there. When we arrived, the furnishings were completely different. We later learned that the apartment we got wasn't even listed on their website. Cleanliness was the bigger problem. The place was filthy, the toilet was dirty, and some dishes couldn't be used. We told the manager, who apologized, brought a usable pot and pan, and promised an "extraordinary" cleaning the next day. We still spent the night in a dirty apartment, with a leaking faucet keeping us awake all night. Desperate, we left the following day. After all that, the manager's sister had the bad taste to ask us to pay for the time we'd stayed. I said I should have been compensated for what we'd gone through. I've never seen an apartment in that condition, and I'm not surprised the dilapidated unit we were assigned wasn't advertised. Their willingness to address problems doesn't make up for it. Honesty comes first. Never again, and I can only advise against staying there.
