Hotel Posta Panoramic

The terrace had a beautiful view, but it could have been cleaner. We chose this hotel because it had a restaurant, only to find it closed. If you’re driving, you can pull up at the front to unload, then use one of the paid parking lots. The booking listed it as a four-star hotel, but it felt like three stars to me. We were given a supposedly better room when we arrived, though it seemed more like a downgrade. It was next to the restaurant, and with no door insulation we could hear everything. Half the shower door was missing, and the bathroom floor wasn’t level, so water could spread across the room. This wasn’t the stay I wanted.

The valley view from the room was superb, and the hotel is well located just a few meters from the center of assisi. I was in room 27, which is at the restaurant, two doors away from the hotel itself. These comments also apply to room 28 next door. The room is quite small and the bathroom even smaller. You’d have to be a contortionist to get in and use the shower. There were no restaurant customers while I was there in early september, but loud music continued late into the night. For some reason, staff started moving terrace furniture, making a loud scraping sound in the room as late as 23:00. The soundproofing is nonexistent. I could hear very loud phone conversations going well past midnight. Maybe the rooms in the hotel are OK, but the ones at the restaurant should be avoided at all cost.

Our room had an excellent view, and the hotel is up on the hill. Breakfast is served every morning at 7:00.

The person at the front desk was no help at all. The booking details need a major update: our hotel confirmation gave no information about where to park for check-in, and there was no assistance with the 15 minute walk up a 45 degree incline while carrying luggage.
