The family who run Hotel Moderno Assisi made our group feel welcome from the minute we arrived, always with a smile. We were more than 30 people staying for two nights, and they were easy to communicate with and very accommodating, including doing their best with a last-minute dietary need. Its position worked really well for us: the Basilica is about a seven-minute walk away, and the train station, bus stop, and taxi stand are right opposite. Tickets were also available at a nearby news stand. On arrival, we celebrated mass, and the hotel provided a space, extra seats, and what else we needed. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, and breakfast offered a choice of cakes. The staff even called our private coaches to check arrival and pick-up times. When some of our group left belongings behind, the hotel let us know and sent them by courier to our next accommodations. We couldn't ask for more.

Everything was spotless, breakfast was just right, and the staff were so friendly. The station is across the street, with a bus into the old town there too. We got in before check-in time expecting only to leave our bags, but they were able to give us our room early. We'd happily come back.

The location and the service were great, and the Hotel Moderno's team were kind enough to make us feel at home. A really welcoming stay in Assisi.

Right by the train station in a safe neighborhood, the hotel was handy for getting to nearby villages and Perugia. There's also a bus stop right out front for the old town. My room was quiet, spotless, and comfortable, with everything I needed. The welcome was warm from the start, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was a treat, with Italian espresso, local products, freshly baked cakes, and elegant background music. I had a wonderful time here and would gladly stay again on my next visit to Assisi.

The Basilica is only about a seven-minute walk away, and the hotel sits just outside the Train station, with buses there for the 14 minute ride up to Assisi sites on the hill. It's a beautiful little place, newly remodeled, and the staff greet you like family. Simple but elegant, with some of the best shower pressure and luxury I've come across in Italy and America. You can't miss it. This place feels like Italy's best kept secret!
