Marco was very friendly and quick to respond, but that couldn't make up for how much work this apartment needs. The terrace should be a highlight, yet it's poorly kept, the hedges need trimming to open the view, and cats make it impossible to eat outside. There are cats and a bad smell around the children's room too, and its door is hard to open. The main bedroom has no window, so there's no way to air it out. The kitchen feels like it's from the 1960s and lacks almost everything: a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, and a drying rack. The bedding all needs replacing. The living room needs freshening up, with damp on the wall and a very uncomfortable sofa bed. The shower is narrow and moldy, and you open the shutter with a crank. It's such a shame, because the place has huge potential. IKEA is nearby if they want to furnish it properly.

From the big terrace you can look across the Gulf of Catania, the wide blue sea and the little garden, with Etna looming and smoking in the distance. The apartment is spacious and fully equipped. The rooms could use renovation, but the owner was friendly, helpful and happy to assist with anything we asked.

The photos are accurate, and Marco gave us a warm welcome. He speaks French well. The view of Mount Etna, the sea and the sunset is exceptional. I highly recommend this place.

We had five unforgettable days beside the Ionian Sea. The place had everything we needed: two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom with toilet, and a terrace with a magnificent view of the sea and Mount Etna.
