That view across the valley in the morning was amazing, and the pool was lovely and peaceful with nobody around. It was the only place on our whole Italy trip that matched the picture of Italy I had in mind. We went with a group and ended up cooking dinner and having a few drinks. We hadn't planned ahead, but the office had pasta, sauces, wine, soft drinks and a few other small things to buy. Once you're there, you probably won't head back into town until the next day, so bring provisions and plan to stay the night. The drive is only 2 or 3 km from La Spezia, but the tiny, winding road makes it feel much farther away. There isn't much signage or internet reception, so download your maps before heading up. Loved it.

What a shame for this retreat. It's wonderfully peaceful and has a fantastic panoramic view, but the place has fallen into disrepair. It was rebuilt and opened in 2005, then operated on and off until around 2015.

We'd definitely come back. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the quiet setting is great for relaxing. It's a little outside town but still well placed for exploring the region. Our room was very clean and had all the necessary amenities, plus a little outdoor space with a table and chairs. There's also a large swimming pool. I'm keeping the address.
