Irmgard, Markus, and their children were extremely friendly and helpful, and we felt completely at home. We stayed at Haus Bachguter in September 2025 as four adults. The bright, clean, modern ground-floor apartment has a welcoming feel and excellent comfort. It’s accessed at the back of the house from a spacious parking area, where our two cars fit and there was room for at least one more. Inside, there are two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, and a very large living room with a kitchenette. The sofa bed can sleep two more people. The huge covered terrace has wooden benches, a wooden table, lounge chairs, and views across the meadows to some of the mountains. You can start hikes to alpine pastures and other destinations right from the house. Restaurants are a 15- to 30-minute walk away, or quicker by car. The grocery store is about a 10-minute drive, and the bus stop for Merano or Bolzano, with one change, is about a 15-minute walk away.

The Mayrl host family was always friendly and accommodating, and gave us helpful local tips. We stayed with them at Haus Bachguter for two weeks in October 2016 and were very satisfied. Everything ran smoothly, including the bread roll service, linen change, and arrival and departure. The modern, spacious apartment had every comfort for a relaxing holiday, including underfloor heating :-) Its large balcony was a lovely place to linger and look over the Merano Valley. The nicely designed playground could be seen from there too. Merano and the surrounding area are easy to reach via the good access road, and the hiking trails in Merano 2000 and Tschögglberg can be reached from the accommodation. We liked it so much when we stayed here years ago that we returned the following year. The apartment is really nice, and the family is incredibly friendly. If we come back to Hafling, we’d love to stay here again.
