Ryanair lost our bags, so we had to give up our plan to hike from Avio to Rifugio Monte Baldo. The host was really accommodating and helped us arrange a taxi, plus suggested local walks that suited the weather. We had a delicious five-course supper for €22 with their house wine. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back in summertime!

A real hidden gem in winter ❄️, with locals coming up for a quick ski or a hike to the top. The views are fantastic, and like everywhere in Italy 🇮🇹, the food and drinks are yummie and affordable. ❤️🗻🚡

Dinner was a feast, with every member of the family pitching in and having a job to do. It's a lovely, simple, family run auberge in an incredibly peaceful alpine setting.

We’ll definitely come back to family-run Rifugio Monte Baldo for the peace and quiet. You feel like you’re at the end of the world, surrounded by silence, nature, and beautiful landscapes. The cuisine is incredibly delicious, and the family atmosphere makes it even better. The rooms are modestly equipped, but clean and cleaned daily. You won’t meet anyone on the hiking trails. If you’re after crowds, head to Malcesine and the shores of Lake Garda instead.

It feels desolate in the brightest, most positive sense, a place for anyone who loves mountains and peace 🏔️. The light and shadows mix across all the landscapes this place gives you, like a gift from God. The amazing high paths wrap you in a solemn, colorful coat. A mercy from the sky... Thank you!
