We’ll be back. The owner leaves a welcome note when you arrive, and everything feels warm. Staff are discreet but ready to help, and the service comes across as natural and pleasant. The remote setting is ideal if you want to get away. Food was very good overall, though some of it was great. One night we had tagliolini all tartuffo. The truffle was top class, even if the pasta wasn’t true tagliolini. In such a remote place, a bit of understanding is fair.

The hotel itself is nice, but the man driving guests there this evening in a white pickup truck was rude and aggressive. His grumpy manner was disgraceful. The hotel should definitely get rid of him.

The setting is what stays with you: snow-capped peaks, meadows, crisp air, and mountain quiet. We enjoyed the views from the terrace over coffee and the nearby hiking trails. With Nerinka as an excellent guide, there's also a complimentary tour, and it left me wanting to spend years exploring the local nature. Hotellerie de Mascognaz has a cozy, attentive feel, with intimate dinners of local food and spa treatments inspired by the surroundings. It’s a place that makes you feel connected to the land and its history, and I’d love to return with friends and family. The rooms mix old-fashioned Alpine charm with modern comfort, and the views make them a peaceful place to unwind. I can see it being especially suited to couples looking for a quiet, romantic escape. The hotel itself has wooden beams and stone walls, but thoughtful renovation gives it modern touches without losing the character of the region. From the moment you arrive, it feels like a special little retreat where time slows down.

We had dinner here as a group of eight, with ski-doo transport up from Champoluc and back again. The setting and atmosphere were beautiful, and it made for a great experience. The food was good, with the sort of menu you’d expect at a standard ski restaurant.
