Places like this are becoming rare, and six years after our first visit in summer 2019, I still remember the classic-style room and its big bathroom with green tiles. We came back for a week in April, and it confirmed how much we'd liked it the first time. With hotel chains dominating the business, so many stays feel forgettable. This place really leaves an impression.

We only stayed one night, but we'd happily come back. Dinner in the estate's back courtyard was fantastic, especially the butter-tender meat. The backyard felt like a hidden romantic spot in Italy, full of ivy and flowers, and the waiter flambéed our crepe suzette right in front of us. Earlier, we had an aperitif in front of the house, with its ivy-covered wall and palm trees around it. The bright, spotless rooms were decorated with care, and we slept like babies. We found the place easily in daylight, parked in the yard, and the dogs greeted us before quickly leaving us in peace. It's about a 20-minute walk to lake varese. This family-run hotel made us feel at home, even for such a short stay.

For a holiday, the rustic experience wasn't bad, and I loved it. My three companions didn't feel the same. I wouldn't choose it for a business trip, especially with breakfast being just a pot of yoghurt. It doesn't really feel like a hotel.
