The lifts are a five-minute drive away, and once you’re up there the views are amazing, with miles of terrain to explore. You can stop at a refugio for lunch, just be sure to catch the last lift back. We nearly missed it once and would have needed a taxi or another way back. Parking for the day is fairly priced. It’s easy to find a space if you arrive early, though it fills up later in the morning. We love Ski Peppi for rentals. The skis and boots are high quality, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they seem to love their work. Compared with our experience in the U.S., it was a different experience and price point. They let us switch skis to try other ones, and exchanges for fit or other reasons were easy. We’ve stayed here two years now and love how nice and accommodating everyone is. It feels good to be remembered and treated like old friends. The food is good, and having a restaurant option after skiing is handy. Parking at the hotel is available and easy. There’s also a ski storage area downstairs with a big boot warmer. The walk to the small town is quick and easy, with a few more restaurants, a bakery, and a grocery store. Each week they put on a lovely lobby buffet with sangria for guests, including tasty cheeses, meats, and other hors d’oeuvres. One afternoon they also served hot apple cider and snacks.

The staff at Ciasa Roby made a difficult situation much easier. My boyfriend broke his leg skiing during our stay, and they were available to us at any time and did everything they could to help him. Giorgio, the hotel manager, even carried him up the stairs with help from two other guests. It’s heartwarming to meet people who are so positive, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel itself is charming, with clean, spacious rooms, and breakfast was great. The ski lift is an easy five-minute walk away, and there’s free storage for skis and boots right next to it. More than anything, the kindness and hospitality of the staff made us feel at home. Ciasa Roby is the best place I’ve ever stayed. We had great service from a knowledgeable staff, and Sania was especially charming, welcoming, and unforgettable. The menu changes every day, and the food is very good. Leaving our ski gear at La Siena by the gondola made getting up to the mountains easy, while still leaving us able to walk around the area.
