Hotel Cavallino

Our room was better than I expected: large, with a balcony and a stunning view of the Dolomites. It was in a separate building across from the main hotel, and cleanliness was no issue. Parking was free, either in front or in the hotel's garage. The location is really good. The staff at reception and in the restaurant felt a bit cold and off during breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was chaotic and could be improved. There weren't any fresh vegetables, and eggs had to be cooked individually, though you could ask for an omelette or fried eggs. We also had dinner at the restaurant once, but the food wasn't amazing.

The spa is magnificent, with several saunas and steam rooms, and we'd gladly return without hesitation. My wife and I found the service polite and our stay enjoyable. It felt welcoming and homey, perhaps because the place seemed to be run by family or close friends. Meals were well organized, with an assigned table where you could just come in and sit down. We never waited long for food, and everything we ate was fresh and left us satisfied. Definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel and location were nice, but when we accidentally left without paying the tax, the owner was very rude, even though we'd booked and paid through booking.com. Within hours of us leaving, the owner threatened to contact the authorities. We said we'd pay as soon as possible and followed through, but our phone calls went unanswered because he was "busy at dinner." He did have time to email us in all caps, basically saying we had no decency. Those messages didn't feel appropriate for a three star hotel.

We paid 670 EUR for two nights for four people, with à la carte dining and no wine, which felt pretty fair for what we got. The rooms were 130EUR per night. The dining room was pleasant, and the menu should suit most tastes. I especially liked the salad from the buffet for 6 EUR. Our room on the third floor was very modern, with lots of wood, a big bathroom, and a large balcony with a very good view. The hotel is cozy and has a decent wellness area. It opens from 3pm to 7pm, which feels a little short to me, though it fits with the restaurant closing at 8.30 pm.
