We had agreed by phone on €50 per night, but when we arrived they asked for another €20 each night. Breakfast service was effectively absent, and it wasn’t clear what permits they had for serving food and drinks. There was a ground-coffee machine and a tin of loose coffee; since no plates or cups were supplied, we had to buy plastic ones. No HACCP standards were followed. Cleaning was poor, and the rooms were bare and neglected. Our room was missing a glass window. The garden was neglected too, with concrete tables, and one tipped onto our lap while we were eating dinner. There were no fire extinguishers, evacuation plan, or emergency numbers. The entrance door was kept locked. The shared area and kitchen seemed questionable, and the rubbish collection spot had no designated bins. There were also many exposed wires in the building, easy to reach and posing a risk of electric shock if touched by accident. Payment had to be in cash, with no receipt. I recommend getting a written quote from the company so there’s no confusion about what was agreed.

The place is imaginative and quite unlike the usual B&B. Mr. Francesco is 80 years old, but in great shape, and he’s extremely kind and helpful. The welcome, for us, really came from the owner alone 🤣😂🤷‍♀️. In my view the cleaning left a lot to be desired, especially for what we paid, and I expected quite a bit more. That’s why I mostly gave it 3 stars.

This is my first review, and I just have to say Francesco is a wonderful gentleman. His modest home feels magical, with something unique about it that you’ll sense during your stay. He pointed out all the stops to see on my trip through southern Sardinia, and so far he’s been spot on. If I come back to Terralba, I’ll definitely stay at Francesco’s inn again. Thank you 💚

We had a great stay for what we needed, a place to sleep and have breakfast. The property is colorful, beautiful, and full of imagination; the rooms are comfortable and packed with details, and the owner is welcoming and friendly. People who complain about the cleanliness may have written their review under the wrong name. One small thought: I think guests would appreciate fresh fruit at breakfast.

The place has a lot of potential, but the management let it down. During our week there, the sheets and bathroom towels weren’t changed, the room was never cleaned, and the owner’s barefoot appearance and wearing the same shirt and pants all week while cooking or cleaning was unpleasant to see. Guests do have to adapt to how the place is run, of course. On top of the base price, we were charged €9 per day for electricity and air conditioning, a charge that hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. That felt like a rip-off.
