Friendly people, a perfect place, and the number one pizza in dolomite. We'll be back next season!

The apartment wasn't great, and our stay was a mess from the start. We booked a bedroom with one double bed and a living room with two sofa beds. Instead, we got a room with a kitchen and a double bed that turned out to be a sofa bed, plus another room with two bunk beds. We felt we'd been treated terribly and deceived by the owner, Swadeshi. We contacted Booking.com about the mismatch. They were very kind and tried to reach Swadeshi, but got no response. The office then closed for the weekend, leaving us unable to leave. There were no alternative arrangements or refund offered. Booking.com was our only point of contact. For five nights at almost €900, the whole thing felt absurd. They never asked us to pay the tourist tax, so we reported that to the relevant authorities, and the property was reported. We later wrote to the hotel asking for a partial refund and a reply, but still haven't heard back. We'll continue with legal action.

We booked after seeing that the accommodation was available, but then they cancelled, saying there was no space. It still appears to be listed as available. They shouldn't mess around with people's time and money.

We come to the Astoria every winter and have done so for many years. It's a timeshare rather than a hotel, with weekly mini-apartments and useful services like parking, daily housekeeping, fresh linens twice a week, and a minibus to the ski lifts. It suits the way we travel: skiing and hiking are the focus, and we do little or nothing after dinner. The place is clean and quiet. The building is over 40 years old, but upkeep is ongoing. This year, they redid many of the floors in both the apartments and shared areas.
