Badolato Superiore feels like a village where the weather itself has taken shape, a lovely place to recharge and start again. Our room was welcoming and clean, with a sea view from the balcony. We slept well, and it stayed cool even on the evening of August 2nd. The owner was friendly. Thank you very much.

We spent a weekend at B&B Borgo Antico, right in Badolato's historic center. The recently renovated property feels brand new, with new furnishings and air conditioning. Anthony was very helpful and welcomed even our smallest suggestions with enthusiasm, hoping to make our stay in this little gem, in one of Italy's most beautiful villages, even better.

The beds were comfortable, and room 2 had a fantastic view of the Ionian coast. The rooms are brand new, though there are about twenty steps up to the main street leading to the central square. The place has a lot of potential. There are still a few small issues with organization and some services, but Antony did everything he could to meet our requests.

Borgo Antico makes a great base for exploring both the hills and the Ionian coast beaches. The B&B is close to the main square, with its little cafes and artisan shops. Around it are cobbled lanes, pastel houses and beautiful views of the surrounding hills. A hidden gem.

Antony is a fantastic host who clearly cares deeply about both the villa and his guests. Badolato's maze of pedestrian lanes is exciting, but it can be confusing, so give yourself time to find your rental. This isn't a roadside Motel 6 with neon signs! The main street, Corso Umberto, is picturesque but very steep. A few weeks before your trip, it might help to raise the treadmill incline above 10% and do some stair climbing. Simply amazing. Have fun!
