Villa Rosalena

A lovely spot to unwind, with a wonderful balcony and views waiting in the morning. The place was clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a great gluten-free selection. Rod was lovely to deal with, offered good advice and helped with our bags. They really catered for a gluten-free diet, thanks!

My room was huge, around twice the size of hotel rooms in the UK, and even had a lounge. There are two sun terraces looking out over the town and river. The raised location has fabulous views over Bagni, yet local amenities are only a short walk away. Rod was a perfect host, always helpful and supportive. I loved the town and the surrounding landscape, and being able to reach the local station and take a train to Lucca in 30 minutes, or to Pisa and Florence. I'm coming back.

We spent two wonderful weeks in Rod's beautiful house with our family of five, renting the whole floor. The rooms were spacious, and we loved the garden, pool, terrace and magnificent river view. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Getting there isn't suitable for people with reduced mobility: you can't drive upstairs and have to climb a lot of steps. That was fine for us, and we'd love to return. Thank you, Rod!

Bagni Di lucca is a small place, but there's still plenty to explore, and it's wonderfully situated in the heart of Tuscany. Cafés, bars, restaurants and grocery stores are nearby, and the villa sits on the edge of the village, still an easy walk from the center. My wife and I spent several evenings here with friends in May 2019. Rod, the owner, was the epitome of hospitality, available around the clock with help, guidance and advice, and always ready to do more for us. The villa itself was very comfortable. We'd have no hesitation staying again, and would probably insist on it!
