Tosco Romagnolo

The welcome at reception was awful. We booked a junior suite through the hotel website, but were given a tiny room that wasn't a suite and looked like my grandmother's house. The manager wouldn't sort it out, and they turned us away without any formal notice. A terrible experience. Avoid.

The neighborhood was quiet even though the hotel is right in the center, and the town's biggest spa is just across the road. We found parking easily, either on the street for 4€ a day or at the hotel for 7€. Breakfast had a lovely spread with plenty of vegetarian options, and the staff were very friendly. There's also a heated pool on the roof. We came for the weekend, and my partner had booked a junior suite. Check-in was very easy. The room was spacious but dated, though the mattress was impeccable. The bathroom was clean and had a heated rack, which came in handy for our wet swimwear. The main snag was that there was no hot water in the evening, and we overheard other guests complaining about it too. It was a nice place to stay, but the weekend price didn't feel in line with the service.

That huge suite with the jacuzzi was superb, and the room and bathroom were both so spacious. Breakfast was really satisfying, with unlimited croissants, eggs, bread and plenty more, plus tasty coffee and juices. Highly recommend!

The staff were polite and helpful, but that couldn't make up for the lack of care and investment. The prices don't reflect how run down things have become. It may once have been luxurious and modern, but the furnishings and decor now look old. The upholstery and wallpaper had unpleasant stains, and broken toilet seats are inexcusable.
