The free parking pass was a really nice extra. Anna gave us a warm, friendly welcome, and we liked the location and our papavero room. Breakfast was a simple Italian spread. We prefer fresh bread and fruit, but picked some up ourselves nearby, so it wasn't an issue.

The location worked well for getting to restaurants, and the host gave us a free parking pass for a lot about a five-minute walk away. The bed was comfortable, and the small bathroom was acceptable. The house itself is tiny, with two bedrooms and a very small kitchen. There was hardly anywhere to sit or put things. We were fortunate to have it to ourselves, because sharing it would have been unpleasant. Breakfast was a letdown: croissants that seemed days old in cellophane and rancid cookies. The cereal and milk were the best part. I bought food at a shop and at a lovely bakery. I think you need to judge this place in light of its price. I wish I'd paid more for somewhere more comfortable and pleasant. At 25 or 30 years younger, I might not have minded, so keep that in mind when reading my review.

The room was nice and the host was good, but the breakfast was unpleasantly sugary :-(. Don't count on breakfast being included.

A friendly, easygoing place, and maybe the best base for seeing Venice and the surrounding region.
