Our spot was right by the beach, and the location between Rome and Naples was great. The facilities were very clean, and there are lots of pitches for campers. The on-site supermarket had a really good selection, so we didn't need to shop elsewhere. Nights were the main issue: the entertainment was loud and seemed to carry on into the early hours. We could hear it all, though a pitch farther away might have been quieter. The restaurant was hit and miss. Lunch wasn't good, the service felt unfriendly, and the food was poor, so we ate lunch elsewhere. The evening pizza was OK and helped redeem it.

We left early after two nights and found a lovely campsite in Rome. This was the worst campsite we've ever stayed at. Our small tent pitch cost 93 euros, and there wasn't room for our car. The toilets had neither paper nor soap, and the restaurant food was terrible. How do you even ruin a lasagne? The soccer field cost 50 euros per hour for the kids to use. The gym shut from noon until 4 p.m., and the shops were closed from 1 to 5 p.m. Maybe that schedule suits Italians, but we found it inconvenient and felt unwelcome. At the pool, swimming hats were required, and our children, who swim very well, couldn't go in without us.

Our nights were peaceful, and we didn't hear the nearby disco mentioned in some reviews. The main frustration was the Wi-Fi, which was very poor, along with weak mobile data coverage. That seems common in Italy, especially if you're roaming. We had a lovely family stay at Baia Domizia Camping Village in June, with a lot for adults and children to enjoy. The site is spacious and set among trees, so expect ants, lizards, the odd spider, and mosquitoes. Keeping the caravan doors shut helps with the mosquitoes. The beach is excellent, with shallow water that works well for kids. The pools were clean and excellent too, though they only opened from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is a jacuzzi area, but it needs renovation. Some tiles were missing, and my son badly cut his finger on a sharp edge. We ate well at the camping restaurant, where a family meal can be under €40, similar to nearby town prices. The pool bar is expensive, so bringing snacks makes sense. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and it was handy to park right beside the caravan, with plenty of space. Having a car would help, since Cellole is 15-20 minutes away for cheaper groceries or trips to nearby towns and attractions. Despite a few small problems, I'd recommend Baia Domizia Camping for families and would consider returning.

Our motorhome pitch was large and sunny, at the far end of the site, close to the beach and shower block. We stayed for a week, and the facilities were clean and well kept. There was loud music late into the night. It didn't bother us much because we were far enough away, though people involved in it were wandering around shouting. Reception service varied a lot. Some staff were polite, helpful, and excellent, while others seemed uninterested, made no effort to engage, and didn't know what they were doing. We would stay again, but we'd choose our pitch carefully.

The place itself is lovely, but the extra charges and long wait were really frustrating. We arrived at 8:30 with two small children and had to wait until 4:30 p.m. to check in. I've never waited more than eight hours before. Beach loungers cost €25 for the first row or €20 from the second row, and pool loungers cost extra too. If you order a pizza from the restaurant and eat it there, they add €3. Honestly, what a joke. I'd have to think carefully about coming back, and probably wouldn't under these conditions.
