Hotel Pulicinu

The pool and outdoor spaces are pleasant, but the rooms were awful and I wouldn't recommend staying here. The air conditioner was ancient and incredibly noisy, and someone had even tried to hold it together with rubber bands. The old pillows we complained about never got replaced, despite asking for two more. You can hear every sound from the corridor as if people are in your room, which makes proper rest impossible. The hair dryer looked like it came straight from the 1970s. The shower water also cuts out for a few seconds at a time. Such a waste of money.

The room door wouldn't lock properly, and the cleaners repeatedly left it open while we were out for the day. The food was dreadful, worse than what I've had at a petrol station, and the staff seemed to care very little about guests. I usually try to give a place the benefit of the doubt, but I honestly can't think of a single redeeming feature. Worst hotel I've stayed in. Avoid it.

The waiters were so attentive and helpful, and a special thanks to Jean Paul at the bar for making me some lemon honey when I had a sore throat. We had a spotless, comfortable room and a very relaxing week. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we couldn't fault the place. You'll definitely need a car to stay here. We just got home and are already looking forward to coming back soon xx

At €550 a night for a suite, I shouldn't have had to sit in the lobby to get online, but there was literally no Wi-Fi in our room. Reception heard about it every day and did nothing. The bed was old, the covers worn, and all the towels smelled of mildew, as if they had been folded before drying properly. We got two pool towels for the whole week, and fresh ones cost €4 each. The place might have counted as four-star back in 1980, but nothing seems to have been updated since. If you're used to four-star hotels elsewhere, you may be shocked by what's considered four-star in Sardinia. I also got the impression that being foreign and not speaking Italian was part of why nobody cared. Be careful before booking.
