Marina Holiday Hotel & Spa

The location is good for exploring the north coast by car, and the town itself is pleasant, though there isn’t a lot of particular interest there. The hotel is divided by a quiet road. Our room was smaller and less appealing than we expected from the description and price, and the decor felt very tired. Breakfast was fine. The pool was tiny, and the picture was very misleading. The spa is in the basement of the building opposite the main hotel. We had a massage, which was okay. No real complaints, but it didn’t quite match our expectations.

The beach isn't right outside, despite how the photos make it look. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes on foot to reach the nearest one. The pool is really more like a large bathtub, and the Wi-Fi didn't work during my stay. You also have to pay €35 per person for the spa. For what you get, it's very expensive.

The views and decor are lovely, and breakfast was good, though the hot food wasn't kept hot. The room had limited facilities, even if the things provided were very good. Staff were pleasant, but I had to ask to find things out; nobody went out of their way to help. The restaurant shuts completely from 1 to 8 every day, so for a snack you have to go out and walk the streets. The spa is tiny, the Jacuzzi was cold, and the floor felt dangerous. My travelling partner and I both slipped, along with several other people I saw. It didn't feel relaxing.

Dinner here uses fresh local ingredients, and the hotel is a quiet, beautiful little place with everything you need. The staff made us feel royally looked after. Fantastic stay, this hidden gem is worth finding.
