Getting there takes effort, with a long walk and stairs from the nearest road, but the beach setting is insanely good. The restaurant serves terrific food, though the menu is limited. Rooms are comfortable, most with balconies, but the shower pressure and temperature can be unpredictable. It’s a charming, old-school paradise for a laid-back stay, whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, or with family, as long as you’re not looking to be pampered.

The quiet here is what let me really recharge, well away from the tourist crowds. The rooms have air conditioning and what you need for a comfortable stay. They’re a bit dated, as seems common in Maronti, but have that rustic seaside feel, and the views of greenery or the sea help make up for it. The family spirit shows in the food and the small rituals. A bell rings at mealtimes, and the dishes are simple, fresh, and made with organic produce from the farm and garden, including vegetables, herbs, and ripe fruit. Antonella, the owner and chef, greeted me with a big smile, showed me to my room, and shared stories about Ischia. Her son Tommaso was always around and happy to help, while he and Francesco served the meals Antonella had prepared. I had a five-star stay at Hotel Olmitello. It’s a place centered on family, kindness, and food made with care, and I’ll definitely be back.

The food was a real high point, with excellent vegetarian and fish menus made from top-quality ingredients from the owner’s own organic garden. She also accommodated specific dietary needs. We stayed four nights, and stepping inside felt like finding a peaceful oasis. The beach is just 50 meters away, with umbrellas and loungers available, and you can walk to Sant'Angelo village and the Cava Scura hot springs. The decor is simple, bright, and tasteful, and everywhere was spotless. Excellent location.

You mainly hear the sea here, with the city noise far away, so it’s a genuinely peaceful place. The dining room almost looks out over the beach, and you can watch the sunset from your table. Antonella gave us a fantastic welcome and runs the property impeccably. Her food was excellent from breakfast through dinner. The rooms were clean and spacious, overlooking a lovely garden that feels like a natural oasis, with the sea only a few meters away. A little gem on Maronti Beach.
