Hotel La Gondola

We'd go back to Ischia just to stay at La Gondola again. Falling asleep above the sea with the moon reflected on the water and the waves in the background, then waking up to that view, was such a lovely part of the stay. The food was fantastic too. We ate at local restaurants as well, but none of them compared. La Gondola has a real soul, and everyone made us feel welcome, from the restaurant staff to Marco and his family. It deserves more than five stars ❤️ The hotel's original design is beautiful and has a sweet retro feel that reminded us of Italy's golden era. Some reviews call it outdated, but we liked that style. It's also been renovated, especially the bathrooms, so we weren't uncomfortable. And it was so clean that we could let our baby crawl on the floor without worrying, which we couldn't say about other modern hotels. As exhausted new parents, we finally got to relax a little here and didn't even want to go home. The hotel looks so much better in person than it does in the photos. People looking for a sterile, modern, isolated setting can find one nearby, but probably not as close to the beach as La Gondola. Thanks for a lovely holiday. All the best ❤️
