Hotel Saint Raphael

This was one of the most draining and uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve had. I stayed at Hotel Saint Raphael Terme with my daughter, expecting international 4-star standards, but the basic levels of comfort, cleanliness, care, and hospitality weren’t there. We found black insect or termite fragments on the floor every day, and I woke up with bites. The room was bare and poorly equipped: no kettle, poor quality mattresses without protectors, a basic fridge, one small open bin, and plastic cups in the bathroom. There was no air conditioning during the day, only ventilation. When we reported that we were uncomfortable, staff were dismissive and even told me to make other arrangements during a busy period. Meals were probably the one part that showed some heart, though the quality was hit and miss. We were assigned fixed seats each day, and water wasn’t included in the half-board package. At checkout, no one offered to help with our luggage or even said goodbye. My key was taken silently. What should have been a peaceful, restorative break on a beautiful island became a disappointing ordeal. I wouldn’t return even if it were free. I don’t know how the hotel met the local 4-star classification, but it fell completely short on comfort, care, and international quality.
