The hot water was a little unpredictable. My first shower was warm, but the next three attempts weren’t as successful. Since it was hot outside, a cool shower actually felt pretty good. Otherwise, this little boutique hotel was a delight. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms are lovely, and the port view is a nice extra. Breakfast was a good continental spread, with wonderfully fresh pastries, nice coffee, and fruit juice. It’s also within walking distance of the city center. From outside, the doors look like they belong to a factory complex, so I’m sure first-time visitors might wonder if they’re in the right place. They are, though: somehow a beautiful little hotel has been created inside this industrial building. I’d highly recommend it.

Miriam was so helpful, and I felt right at home in this comfortable, pleasant place. It’s directly across from the ferry terminal, and breakfast was generous. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

Turning a council flat into an Airbnb might sound clever, but running a hotel takes skill. On the surface everything seems fine, yet the price is far too high for the little service and comfort you get. I won’t be back.

Miriam was very accommodating, letting us check in early in the morning and store our bags the afternoon before our evening departure. The room was clean and spacious, with air conditioning and a mini-fridge, though the shower was a bit small. Breakfast was generous and very good. The B&B sits almost opposite the port, so it’s handy if you’re arriving or leaving by ferry. There’s paid parking nearby, or you might find a space on the street if you’re lucky.
