Waking up to the mountain view was such a treat :) The hosts were welcoming and accommodating, and the food was delicious, with vegetarian choices too. Everything about the place was wonderful.

After a few busy days in Bologna and Florence, this was the quiet hillside break we needed. The views are stunning, the hosts are so welcoming, and dinner on the terrace, made at home, was wonderful. It would also be a lovely place to rest while out walking. I’d definitely recommend Podere Belvedere!

We were completely burned out after six hard months at home, dealing with a family member’s death and illness. We set off with our backpacks for a two-month trip around Europe, then realized near the end that we needed somewhere to truly rest. That’s how we ended up at Podere Belvedere, which turned out to be far more magical than we could have imagined. The food was the highlight. Mary’s home cooking won us over, especially her cherry tarte and handmade ravioli. The chicken liver is a must-try, even if you’re unsure about it. We also loved the wine list, especially the rich, full-bodied Fabrizio Pratesi Carmignano. Breakfast was included and thoughtfully prepared each morning, with fresh local and seasonal ingredients. Dinner costs extra, but it’s well worth it. We felt cared for in so many ways. Mary was a phenomenal cook and such a generous, kind person. When my husband felt unwell one day, she went out of her way to look after him. Her husband Simone and their children, David and Ornella, made the whole place feel warm and welcoming, like family. Daily housekeeping was another quiet luxury that let us switch off. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and homey, with thoughtful touches and a nice mix of rustic charm and comfort. The pool was immaculate and lovely to use at any time, with a view across the golden Tuscan hills. The two family dogs, Zoe and Holly, were a comfort too. After six weeks on the road and missing our own pups, it felt like having a little piece of home with us. We’ve travelled a lot around Europe, especially Italy, and Podere Belvedere is easily one of the best places we’ve stayed. For peace, authenticity and warm hospitality in Tuscany, we can’t recommend it enough.

Dinner was delicious, and we loved the swimming pool. The owners and staff were very helpful, making this a great stop for the Degli dei hike. If you’re walking to the b&b, I’d take the main road instead of trying to find a shortcut.

This was our third stop on the Via Degli Dei trek. Dinner at their restaurant was great, though breakfast less so, and I found the room chilly because the heating was off. The previous place we stayed had turned on the heat before guests arrived. For what I paid, I expected a bit more. Communication wasn’t great. I didn’t know there was a ride available from Futa Pass, so I waited there for two hours for a bus that wasn’t going to come because it was a public holiday. I called to ask about the bus or shuttle, and only then was a pickup offered for a fee, which was fine with me.
