The hosts were helpful and accommodating, and Castellina in Chianti is about a 15-minute drive away. The agriturismo is stunning, though it’s off the beaten path and getting there means driving on a gravel road. My only complaint was the charge of 6 euro for a beach towel if you wanted one at the pool. Everything is à la carte.

There’s a large swimming pool and plenty of spots in the garden to sit and enjoy the views. This is a family-run, self-catering place surrounded by vineyards, with 15 apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms. You’ll need a car to get there, including along a track of about 300 mtrs from the paved road. The restaurant serves food and drinks are available all day, but it’s closed Monday and Tuesday.

The place has a lot to love, and we had a wonderful stay. The apartments are beautifully designed, the location is stunning, and everyone was genuinely kind and welcoming. Our mattress wasn’t as comfortable as we’d hoped, though the beds were generally fine. Checkout at 10am also felt early with check-in after 4pm; a window closer to 11-3 would be better. WiFi only works in the common areas, and the signal is poor. A mesh system or extenders could make a big difference. These seem like relatively easy fixes, and with them addressed, we’d return 100% without hesitation. Thank you for everything!

The owners were incredibly kind, and the meals were among our favorites from our whole trip to Italy, where the food generally didn’t disappoint. We stayed four nights at Romitorio di Serelle and wished we’d booked longer. The views over the property and surrounding vineyards can’t be beat, especially at sunset. We also enjoyed a delicious, fun wine and vinegar tasting on site. We rented a car for day trips, but honestly could have stayed at the hotel and been happy. We hope to return for a whole week someday.
