Santa Maria a Poneta

We felt very safe here, with solid wooden apartment doors, locked interior window shutters, bushes around the property, and a security gate. Having a small kitchen was handy, too. PAM Supermarket is five minutes down the road, so we could cook simple meals instead of staying in a cramped hotel room and eating out all the time. The owners were extremely welcoming and gave us a bottle of wine and some olive oil. Both come from their farm a few miles away, where they also hosted a private tasting for us. The apartments and landscaping are very well maintained, and the location made it easy to visit lots of places. We took day trips to Florence, San Gimignano, and Castello di Brolio, with Pisa, Sienna, Cinque Terre, and others also nearby. We stayed four nights and both wish we’d made this part of our trip longer. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The location was great, with a supermarket nearby and lots of restaurants around. The workers were really nice, the weather was great, and the dogs were very friendly. Danilo helped us find places to visit and get to lovely spots, and having him there makes me really want to come back. This was my favorite place. Everything was great, and I’d come again if I had the chance. If you’re looking for a great place to stay, this is it, 100 percent.

We usually try new places every vacation, but this Agriturismo has become the exception. It’s a great base for small families visiting Tuscany, and the owners have always been wonderful, helpful, and accommodating. The property is immaculate. Apartments have everything you need, including private terraces, fully equipped kitchens for cooking food you’ve picked up on your travels, and there’s a BBQ too. The pool area is a natural gathering spot where families can meet, while kids have grassy areas for a ball or frisbee. The horse stables, riding area, and paddocks will keep them curious too, just bring a few carrots.

Not cheap, but worth it if you want to explore the Chianti area. The hosts are friendly, and there are fun pets to hang out with. The apartment was just right for two, very clean, and decorated with original furniture, thank god, no IKEA stuff.
