Color Hotel style & design

The grounds and decor were even more impressive in person than the website photos suggest. There’s art and little details throughout the hotel that give it a lovely feel. We’d all happily stay here again if we return to Bardolino. We came for three nights with friends to celebrate my partner’s 40th birthday. Before we arrived, the staff were very helpful, contacting me several times to help arrange surprises and airport transfers. When we got there, we learned our rooms had been upgraded. They were all fabulous, and the team helped us adjust the room temperature, arranged for us to sit together at breakfast each morning, and gave us tips as we headed out to explore. The Samsara suite gave our family of four lots of space. It’s tucked away at the back of the hotel in a quiet spot, looking over the biggest pool. We had a great stay and really didn’t want to leave. The location is handy, about five minutes on foot to the lake and ten into Bardolino. Breakfast was probably the best I’ve ever had, with a huge range of high-quality food. The grounds are beautiful, and the staff are caring and excellent. There are free bikes, a relaxing indoor pool that’s almost like a giant hot tub, and a lovely heated outdoor pool with a ping pong table. My 11-year-old son’s take was: “The staff were sooooo nice, there are delicious breakfast options, and they give you candy when you go out. The rooms are really clean and well looked after. Great stay, highly recommend it, have fun!” I’d generally agree with him.

We had a good three-night stay at the colour hotel. The room was comfortable, though the A/C was a bit temperamental. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and the bar was very good too. The Bardolino location is just perfect for a stay by Garda.

The hotel's location made it easy to explore, with the lake, town center, and a supermarket nearby. The organized events were enjoyable too, especially the rooftop one with its lovely atmosphere and stunning views. The service was a bright spot. Staff were friendly and attentive, but when some guests were disruptive, there didn’t seem to be enough intervention, and we felt uncomfortable. The hotel restaurant was disappointing for the price. The dishes looked beautiful, but the flavors didn’t live up to what we expected from its Michelin star. Paying over €250 for a meal that looked better than it tasted was a letdown. Our room also felt poor value. It was small, as were the bathroom and bedroom, especially for this price class, while the large balcony seemed unnecessary. There was limescale on the rainfall showerhead and parts of the bathroom were coming out of the wall. Breakfast was fine, but the menu stayed the same throughout our visit. The pool areas were clean and well maintained, but the water was quite cold and they were often crowded with noisy children. In the wellness area, the water was often too cold as well. Children under 12 were frequently unsupervised despite the rules, which disturbed the atmosphere, and many jacuzzi buttons didn’t work properly. Our massage was pleasant and relaxing overall, although the lack of oil caused some friction burn and discomfort. More care there would have made it perfect. For the price, we expected a more refined, trouble-free stay. The service and events were excellent, but the problems with the room, facilities, and restaurant overshadowed them. I hope the hotel addresses these issues for future guests.
