The staff were all very friendly, and the outdoor spaces were kept up really well. We stayed for a week as a family. The pool is older but okay, and the setting made up for some of the problems. Still, we wouldn’t return. You need a car to get anywhere in Bardolino. The road isn’t very pedestrian-friendly and has no lighting. Inside, the apartment was very noisy, and we could hear the children next door terribly. The kitchen equipment was dirty in the cupboard and badly stocked. There were two pots, one broken and neither with a lid. For an apartment booked for four, I expected dishes for four, but there were only three wine glasses, three cups, and one cereal bowl. We cleaned the trash can ourselves because it was so dirty and smelly. The bathroom was old and looked poorly maintained, though it was just about okay.

The pool hours were absurd, and the owners unfortunately don’t seem able to share the luxurious "well-being" they talk about in a caring way. It’s a beautiful place otherwise, but the apartments are tiny and not very clean. Ours had dirty windows and cobwebs everywhere. We planned to stay about six days and left after two. The owner seemed in a hurry and, to me, focused on increasing his bank account without giving guests peace of mind or freedom.

We could occasionally hear the main road behind the property, but it never bothered us. The owner speaks only Italian. His daughter handles email in German or English, though she’s rarely on site. He was always very friendly and helpful. We booked the small villa, but it was occupied when we arrived, so we spent the first few days in an apartment. The pool was very nice and clean, with regular service, and the olive grove above Bardolino is a beautiful setting, about 2.5 km from the town center, with a lovely partial view of Lake Garda. The apartment didn’t seem suitable for four adults. The upstairs room under the eaves has very little headroom because of the sloping roof and gets very hot in summer. It might work for small children, except for the steep wooden stairs. Apart from a few small bathroom flaws, the cleanliness was acceptable.
