Camping Cisano

The campsite has gone downhill badly, and for what it costs, the standard just isn’t acceptable. We’ve visited Camping Cisano three times, but won’t be back. The kids’ pool area was dirty and unsafe, with loose ladders, moss, grime, and bricks that didn’t seem stable. The slide area felt unhygienic, and there was often a horrible smell near the stage and lake. Cars, vans, campers, and even bin trucks drove around constantly, sometimes fast, so the place didn’t feel safe for children. Even basic things like the dryer were broken. Our accommodation had a few problems too: the BBQ didn’t work, the tap leaked, the decking was broken, and the shower temperature changed dangerously.

We had a lovely stay with Hu, though the welcome kit was missing, unlike at other camps.

The lake at the campsite looked mucky, so we chose not to swim. An hour up the road, the water was perfectly clear. The site itself was crowded, with kids running wild, electric scooters zipping about and cars parked everywhere. Our pitch was extremely uneven and difficult to get onto and off. The lakefront location is very good, and it makes a nice base for exploring beautiful Lake Garda. The showers and toilets were also very good. Still, we won’t return or recommend the campsite.

We’d planned to come back, but the way our final day was handled has probably changed that. After paying for two weeks and spending almost 1000 Euros at the shop, restaurants and bar, as well as on theme park tickets, it seemed petty and rude to begrudge us a couple of hours at the pool. We had a great two weeks overall. The Eurocamp cabin was small but functional, as expected, and the site had good pools, helpful staff and a good location. The night before checkout, a Eurocamp rep came by to remind us about leaving and the cleaning expectations. I confirmed checkout was at 10am and said that was when we planned to leave. We followed the instructions, left the keys on the table and were out just before 10. Our flight wasn’t until mid evening, so we moved the car to the main car park and planned to swim and have lunch. At lunch, my partner noticed two missed calls. He called back, thinking we’d left something behind, but the site was checking whether we’d checked out. We said yes, explained we were still onsite, and were told that wasn’t allowed and we had to leave. I’ve checked out of several hotels and stayed to use their facilities for the rest of the day, and we did the same at a Eurocamp last year.
