Parc Hotel Germano Suites & Apartments

We arrived hungry and thirsty after a long trip, only to find restaurants closed and nowhere nearby to eat or drink. At the hotel, the restaurant was shut, and we couldn’t even get a coffee at the bar because no staff were there. Apart from the spa and pool, there seemed to be no basic facilities or services available. The whole place felt as if it were running in cold mode. We’d booked a unit with a lake view, but could see no lake at all, only the wall of a neighboring structure built in front of the accommodation. The apartment also had no kitchen, so we couldn’t prepare meals ourselves, despite the “suites & apartments” description. Reception refused a refund when we cancelled because food and drink services were unavailable. After a long discussion with the reception manager, we got only a partial refund. They take payment upfront, and are quick about charging. The value for money was miserable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting even basic service or an honest description.

Breakfast was amazing. The rooms are nice, with beautiful views of the greenery outside, and some look onto the swimming pools. 🏊‍♂️👍

The hotel’s good points were the breakfast, the room itself, and the grounds. But the outdoor pool was too small for the number of people there, and we found it strange and uncomfortable that you can’t switch the room AC on or off yourself. You have to call reception to ask. My husband and I paid quite a high amount for three nights, travelling with our two small children to celebrate our birthdays, which fall on the same date. I asked politely if the hotel could arrange something for a birthday and was told it couldn’t. Later, I saw a similar event being arranged for other guests, which made me wonder if we’d been treated unfairly. When I raised this and asked about the difference, a receptionist spoke to me in a very inappropriate way, shouting and then hanging up the phone. It was shocking and hurtful. An apology came afterward, but the damage was done.

Breakfast gets very busy, and there aren’t always tables available. One older woman at the pool snack bar was rude and seemed to lack people skills. She tapped her watch when it was early, then disappeared from the counter while customers were waiting. The younger woman was helpful and courteous. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.
