Adelle is what made this place feel like home. She was always smiling, warm and ready to help, and looked after us like a mother would. We never felt like just guests, more like family. She even offered free coffee whenever we asked, printed our electronic tickets at no charge, and gave us useful directions and recommendations for local attractions. There’s also an open snack area with small bites available at any hour, which was handy if we came back tired or wanted something between meals. We stayed nine nights in this charming part of Barga, and were delighted with the value for money and the peaceful surroundings. The rooms were spotless, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels and regular linen changes. Heating was always on and there was constant hot water, especially welcome on cooler nights. The spacious garden courtyard was a quiet spot to read or relax. Breakfast was a highlight too, with local products, homemade flavors and a good variety that changed each day. You could tell care went into it. Don’t miss this place if you’re visiting Tuscany. It’ll stay in your heart.

The room was very clean, and the breakfast was the best I had during six weeks of riding around Italy. There were free-range eggs and fresh local berries among the choices. Such a beautiful place to stay, and definitely worth the price.

Adele was a really nice, smart owner, and the breakfasts were very good. The views are lovely, especially around dawn and afterwards, and the bed was comfortable. The showers are kind of tiny, though a lot of places in Italy are like that. The door lock was strange and hard to open or lock. I’d definitely recommend the place.

Adele was super helpful and knew a lot about local sights, bars and restaurants. She’s a Scotswoman who’s moved here and speaks perfect English and Italian. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and having parking right beside the property was a bonus. It’s conveniently placed just north of the old town, on the first floor of a palazzo, with a library on the ground floor.

Adele, the hostess, was extremely kind and helped us with everything from hiking advice to train schedules. The old villa is beautiful, and the rooms have an astonishing view of the old town. Absolutely perfect, highly recommend!
