We found the apartment made a great base for getting around Bari. The Old Town was about 20 minutes away on foot, and Pane e Pomodoro beach around 30 minutes. In roughly five minutes we could reach a supermarket, pharmacy, fishmonger, butcher, pizzeria, café, and market. Bari Central Station was about seven minutes away, with direct train and bus links to places including Alberobello, Matera, Lecce, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, and San Giovanni Rotondo. It’s best to check connections on Google Maps. There were four of us on a week-long September holiday. I wasn’t fully sure about the choice when booking, but I’d now recommend it wholeheartedly. Mario is kind and helpful, and somehow became the apartment owner, a friend, and our guide all in one. A few days before we arrived, he messaged me on WhatsApp to coordinate our flight arrival and sent useful directions from the airport. We got to Bari around 8:30 in the morning and asked about checking in early. Mario agreed, provided the apartment was empty and he had time to clean it. It was vacant, and when our taxi dropped us at the address, he was already outside to greet us and show us in. He had warm focaccia and fresh mozzarella ready for us, showed us where everything was, and pointed out nearby cafés, restaurants, and shops. The apartment was clean and tidy, with an ironing board, iron, hair dryer, and more. Mario had also bought drinking water and chilled some bottles in the fridge.

A comfortable, pleasant apartment with two bedrooms and a living room. The location is convenient and the price is reasonable. Signor Mario also speaks Russian really well. His several years living in “occupied” Crimea clearly weren’t wasted on him! Grazzie, Mario! Grazzie, amico!
