Casa Maria - Bari Centro

We ended up moving to a hotel for the rest of our stay after the host responded to our concerns with very little communication, was rude, and accused us of making things up to get a refund. We had raised genuine problems, but they weren’t addressed. This was the worst accommodation and Airbnb experience we’ve had with this host. The apartment had dirty sheets in both sets we were given, a grimy coffee maker, a shower head that didn’t work properly, and too few basics like paper towels. We know how to use and clean a moka pot. Most of our group were Italian, and one person was a citizen. The building felt insecure too. Only one of the four keys worked, and we stopped using them because the main door could simply be pushed open. Cockroaches were another serious problem. We know the host can’t control them in the streets, but they were inside the building. We’d find another 5-8 in the stairwell each morning and watch them run under apartment doors. We have video proof. Someone was even worried enough about them getting inside to secure our door. There’s clearly an issue in the building, and that should be mentioned in the listing. Professional cleaning doesn’t automatically mean things are clean.
