Executive L'orangerie BB

It’s a small B&B in a colonial building dating back to 1878, and I thought it was good value for money. I booked through Booking.com with breakfast and parking. Breakfast was typical Italian, and the pool was lovely. The soft seating is free to use, but sun loungers cost extra.

You charged us 139 euros even though we canceled within the stated period and were supposed to owe nothing. That’s dishonest. People looking for a hotel should choose somewhere else, because you’re thieves.

It’s a lovely spot with a pool, and the location is handy for nearby restaurants. We didn’t eat there. Booking and reception felt unusual since everything was handled over WhatsApp.

We’d booked four nights, but after one night we’d had enough. There was no one there to show us the room, and everything was locked. They opened the gate remotely so we could get in. Someone was meant to arrive at 15:30 but never did. I called for advice on getting to Centro historico, and they said they’d come at 18:30. We couldn’t wait, so she gave me the bus number. The room itself was nothing special. It had one tiny wardrobe with no shelves and just one small chair. The mattress was awful, with springs that hurt our bodies. It was overly decorated, and the curly, loose headboard wasn’t fixed in place. There were fluffy curtains and tablecloths, but no real amenities. The shower cabin was so small my husband, who’s a big man, felt uncomfortable. It’s a nice old house in a mostly modern area, but far from the lovely town of Bari. This isn’t a high-end B&B. Breakfast was terrible. The coffee and tea arrived lukewarm with foam on top, and the water hadn’t boiled, so it took ages. There were two kinds of stale cereal in little jam pots, toast in plastic instead of fresh bread, no cheese or ham, and only small packets of jam and other horrible things. There was no yogurt on the table, so I got some from the fridge myself. It was pre-packed, not fresh, of course. There were also some sweet things left over from the day before. The cleaning lady was lovely. The man who kept coming and going was very unfriendly, probably the owner.
