It was okay.

The central location was about the only good thing. There was nowhere to park, and the place was a waste of money, a real fail. The shower was tiny and broken, including the head and the walls. Soap and shampoo had already been opened, mosquitoes were squashed on the walls and doors, and the doorframes were coming loose.

The room was a good size and had all the amenities, and they even left croissants for us when we arrived. The location is handy, with public transport close by and the center, including famous shopping street Via Sparano, only minutes away. A few things with the bedding made sleeping difficult: the extra pillows had no cases, the sheets were the wrong size, and the mattress cover had a tarp-like feel. Still, it could suit someone visiting Bari on a budget.

The owners were kind and helpful, and there’s discounted parking about a five-minute walk away. I stayed in June 2017, in a spacious, bright apartment that was spotlessly clean. Our unit had two large bedrooms with practical, pleasant furnishings, a living room with kitchenette, and a shower bathroom. Every room had air conditioning. It’s on a quiet street a few minutes on foot from the center, with supermarkets, a couple of pizzerias, and several restaurants nearby. Bar London is right by the entrance, with friendly staff and good, reasonably priced breakfasts.
