Hotel Adria

We arrived early and waited briefly in the completely empty reception area, while a staff member from Avis, across the street, was due to meet us there. The receptionist came over and asked for our room number. When we said we were only waiting for someone, she firmly and rudely told us only hotel guests could sit there and made us leave. That wasn't hospitality. I'll be traveling to Bari frequently, but I know I won't choose this hotel again.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the renovated room had most useful amenities, even a kettle. Breakfast was generous, with a wide range of sweet and savory options, though not in the usual Mezzogiorno style. The old building is well kept and renovated, and you can't really hear the nearby railway. The hotel is close to Bari Centrale, Bari Murat, and just two or three bus stops from Bari Vecchia. I recommend it wholeheartedly! The AC had no switch to turn it off, and only stopped after the window was left open for a while. That may make sense in summer, but in early spring it could just be used for a bit of heat instead of running all the time. The lift was fairly slow too, though it wasn't new.

A simple, great place to stay, with friendly staff all around and a good breakfast. And a huge thank you for keeping our bike bags for three weeks! 💜

The location made this a convenient choice for our one-night stay. It's only a five-minute walk from the train station, and we could easily walk into the town center to explore. Our room was clean, reception staff were friendly, and they let us check in early once the room was ready. We'd arrived around noon and, while we returned our rental car nearby, stored our luggage ourselves in what seemed to be a breakfast room where other guests had left their bags. The room was a little warm at first, but opening the large balcony windows cooled it quickly. Great for a short stay at a reasonable nightly rate.
