Luna&Sole Oreste Apartments - Self check-in

We found dirty dishes in the cupboard, which was off-putting. The apartment had been renovated, but it felt small, dark, and in a rather bad area, and was greatly overvalued. The host came across as unprofessional. For about the same price, we had a much better stay at another apartment in Bari.

We did enjoy our stay, but I don't think the price is justified. The apartment is newly renovated, nicely furnished, very clean, and everything works. The windows look out either onto a small cloister or an ugly internal courtyard, which is tolerable, but the price should reflect that. We never met the owners. They let us in remotely after calling our cell phone and didn't come by again. When we needed more coffee pods, they just left them behind the door. To me, a B&B should include some human contact with the owner. This felt colder than a hotel, where at least you can talk with a waiter or receptionist. Breakfast was sparse too: coffee, tea, two biscuits, and two pieces of toast with jam. I'm not asking for much, but that seems below the minimum. In response to the owner's comment: I'm a Google Level 8 Local Guide and have reviewed several hundred properties over the past few years. I also ran my own accommodation business for about twenty years. You don't need to teach me how to review places I've stayed, especially yours, since it's natural you'd view your own work positively. I think you should take my observations seriously, especially the critical ones, and consider what could improve guests' perception. That seems like basic common sense to me. Sincerely,

The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed, and the bathroom was really nice. For our family, two parents and two children, the accommodation, "Luna" on the left, worked well as a base for exploring Bari's old town. With a bit of luck, you can park right outside, though those spaces are paid Zone C parking at €1/hour. There's no time limit.
