Olive Tree - Hostel

I could use the common area comfortably for work calls before check-in and after check-out, and the staff were very friendly. The terrace was lovely too. My room was spacious and clean, and the bathrooms were clean as well. Three showers felt sufficient for the hostel's size. It's about five minutes from the station and fifteen from the old town. I enjoyed my one-night stay. At 50 eur a night for a dorm bed, it still felt expensive, though with a last-minute booking I couldn't find many other options in Bari.

The terrace was a great place to relax, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and the kitchen had everything I needed. The staff also helped me plan trips around the area. Best hostel in Puglia for me. I'd happily come back, and highly recommend it.

The Olive Tree was clean overall and affordable, with free lockers and locks provided. Some mess appeared at times, though that seemed to come from other guests not being considerate. The individual room doors don't lock, which was a first for me in a hostel. There are just three separate bathrooms with showers for the whole place, so mornings can get busy. I'd suggest going in the afternoon or evening instead. It's well located, near the train station and a ten-minute walk from the old town. Staff helpfulness varied. I dropped my bags off in the morning, then had to wait until afternoon to check in. The woman who showed me the map earlier only drew a line toward the old town, which wasn't much help. When I returned, another staff member walked me through it carefully and shared lots of ideas and suggestions. I had a nice stay and would return.

That cosy, welcoming atmosphere made my three nights in the 10 bed dorm really enjoyable. David and the staff were lovely, and the simple facilities covered what I needed. It was easy to meet people, and everyone was respectful. The social feel was great without turning into a party hostel. I'd definitely recommend it.
