I stayed at the B&B Marco Polo in Barletta from the 19th to the 24th of February 2019, and I can’t recommend it. At first, arranging things by email and phone went smoothly, so I expected a pleasant visit. Instead, the room stayed uncomfortably cold because the heating couldn’t warm it enough. Noise carried through the whole building both day and night, and the mattress was uncomfortable. Getting to the room was also a challenge: the building is very old, with a steep staircase and short steps, so you need to be in good shape. When I complained, I got only a half-hearted apology. In my view, that’s no way to treat customers.

Our room had a glamorous, interesting interior, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The owner was very friendly, and there was air conditioning. They clean every three days, changing the sheets and towels as well. I recommend it!

The rooms at Marco Polo B&B in Barletta were beautiful, spacious, and well cared for, and the staff were courteous. It’s also in a great spot, just steps from the train station. Still, we didn’t have a positive stay: there was no hot water, and the explanations we got weren’t clear. Breakfast came through tickets for two participating cafés, but the choices were limited and there was nothing for people with allergies. A few adjustments could make this an excellent place to stay.

It was comfortable and welcoming, and getting there from the train station was easy. You can also reach all sorts of nearby activities on foot.

The station is close by, which was the only real plus. There was a tarp under the bed, and the nights felt like sleeping in a sauna. The closet was packed with spare bedding and barely usable. They required cash payment on arrival, and I never got a receipt. And the bidet is missing. I wouldn’t recommend it.
