Il Colombé B&B

We loved starting the day with breakfast in the garden, helping ourselves to ham, cheese, homemade cakes and jam, juice, and cappuccino. There’s also a lovely breakfast room. Lorenzo, who speaks perfect English, and his Mama Lorenzo, who speaks French, were wonderful hosts. They suggested restaurants and things to do, and it was a pleasure meeting them. The spacious suite had two balconies, a great bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and air conditioning. The house sits on a hill in complete quiet, with an English-style landscaped park for walks and views over town and countryside. After trips to Como, Lugano, or Milan, we really enjoyed the pool. Parking is right by the house and feels very safe, behind an electric gate around the house and park. This was the best B&B we found on our various trips to Italy. They were so careful about breakfast choices for my wife, who has coeliac disease and was pregnant at the time. She had several things she could eat and never got sick. The service was truly wonderful and thoughtful. We also got loads of advice on places to visit and good places to eat, including options without gluten. The people were very welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and we absolutely recommend this place.

The gardens are gorgeous and feel like a park, and the location is nice. Inside, the rooms were clean and tidy, with a lovely interior that the owner took time to explain. Breakfast had a good variety, and the price was good. The owner’s attention really stands out.

The hosts were warm, welcoming, and helpful, with plenty of contacts around the area. Breakfast was a delicious traditional Italian spread: coffee and breads to choose from, fruit, yogurt, and homemade cakes. The hilltop setting is beautiful, with a huge terraced garden. I’d happily come back to this B&B and recommend it.
