Apartment Via Vittoria

The apartment is close to the historic center and to plenty of restaurants and pizzerias, where Umbrian food and other dishes are available at reasonable prices. The center itself is a little disappointing, since some buildings spoil the look of the main square. Santa Maria degli Angeli is a 4-5 minute drive away, and its Porziuncola is a must-see. You can see its dome from Bastia and Assisi, though Assisi draws heavy, constant religious tourism, especially in spring and summer. The nearby highway also makes other places of artistic interest easy to reach. We stayed in this family-run property and found the apartment very much like a home away from home, with the comforts and service of an upscale hotel. Ours was on the first floor, with a large kitchen and living room, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning in both bedrooms, and a TV in each. It had everything we needed, even for a longer stay. Matteo, his parents, and his brother were available to sort out any problems without intruding, and offered useful advice about getting around and places to visit. Highly recommended.
