Hotel San Luca

The restaurant was the one part I really liked, and its staff were very nice. I’d happily come back to eat there, but I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again. There’s parking all around the property, but the hotel and rooms are very outdated, maybe 30 years behind. The rooms are as bad as other reviews say. The pool is tiny, old, and falling apart. They host many evening events, and it seems they make money from those, so I’m guessing that’s why they don’t invest in the rest of the hotel and only focus on revenue from what’s left. They need to realize they’re in 2023, not 1991. Breakfast can’t really be called breakfast. The pig salami was on the same plate as the cheese, so as a Muslim and vegetarian I couldn’t touch the cheese. There were no vegetables, eggs, or hot food. Just a few mini, stale pastries on three plates and three bottles of the same cheap, unbranded corn flakes. Coffee was only available on request and tasted terrible. The machine juice was only pineapple and apple. It looked and tasted strangely mouldy, so we didn’t drink it, and I suspect they don’t clean the machine. As a vegetarian, all I could eat was a dry piece of bread with butter and a tiny croissant. I left hungry and had to get breakfast again at another bar in town. The aircon ran on high the whole time. I called reception and was told they’d turned it off, but six hours later it was still blasting. The room was 15 degree celsius and freezing. I called again and got the same claim, though it clearly hadn’t been shut down. I’ve worked in hotels and know some use an automatic system where one room’s aircon turns on the whole floor, so I’m guessing they keep the entire hotel at 15 degrees cold to make foreign guests happy, without caring that other guests freeze. There wasn’t any duvet in the room.

The staff were so helpful and cheerful. Our junior suite had 4 beds, and the cozy room was close to the swimming pool. The hotel is large, with two wedding halls and two separate room sections. Parking was just 10 meters from our room. I strongly recommend it.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and everything was clean. The service was amazing, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast hall team were especially great. There’s a man in his 40s there who is super professional, and the hotel is lucky to have him. This is one of the best hotels in the area. I’ll be back and book here again.
