The kitchen utensils and supplies could be more plentiful, but the good points of staying here as a base far outweigh that small shortcoming. The mini apartments are cozy and impeccably clean, and the property has a lovely patio where you can shower with a sea view. Maria and her family are always welcoming and helpful. The place sits high up with a splendid view of the Ogliastra coast, including Arbatax, Tortolì, and Lido di Orrì. It’s only two minutes from central Santa Maria Navarrese, and an eight minute drive from Baunei, perched 600 meters above sea level just below the wild, fascinating Golgo plateau.

The location is strategic, and the owner was welcoming. But the apartments were made from the remains of a terrace, and they’re very hot and poorly ventilated. There’s no air conditioning, only a table fan that’s practically useless. They don’t have a microwave or an oven, and one stove in each apartment had been deliberately blocked. You need to buy everything, including bathroom disinfectant, a sponge, dishcloths, and detergent. There’s no electricity in the bedroom or on the terrace, and no deckchair to sit back and enjoy the view. There’s a lot that could be improved, and I wouldn’t return.

The view is lovely, and it’s really peaceful here. It’s a little outside the town center, and the nearest bar is by the village entrance, so having a car is useful. Since breakfast isn’t included, a short stay might be less convenient. I’d recommend it for a longer visit.

The apartment had everything we needed and came with a beautiful view. It was one of three units below the terrace, in a very quiet area. The owners were really friendly. There’s free parking, but no air conditioning. Cooking is on gas, so bring matches.
